I have a 1980 18' fiberglass galaxy with a 115 hp merc. My problem is that the transom is starting to get very soft. It is to the point where you can visbly see the transom flex under hard acceleration and also hear it. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to solve this problem. I do use a transom saver but I dont believe that my grandfather did.(it was his boat) The only thing that I came up with was to bolt a large piece of 1/4" thick aluminum to the out side of the transom and a little piece on the inside of the well and possibly add a few extra bolts through further from the well with large heavy duty washers on the inside. Please any advice or comments would be greatly appreichated(sp?).
