Have 75hp Merc tiller - want new boat. Ideas?

83walleye

Question

I run an '03 75hp Merc tiller on an '85 Yar-Craft. I'm thinking about new boats - want to move the Merc onto a Pro-V or something similar. What should I look at? Can I put this motor on a 17' Pro-V and get decent performance? I'd like to stay at 17' if possible...16' is just a bit small any more...

83, I have a 2004 F75 Yamaha on a 1775 Pro-V. My prop is a 13 1/2 X 17 and top end on a very good day is 38 mph gps. One time with a tail wind I hit 39...35mph tops with my fishing buddy. I don't care much about speed and I'm fine with those numbers. They don't make the 1775 Pro-V anymore so you might be on the look out for a used one or a 2005 that is still at a dealers. I'm 100% happy with my combo.

Good Luck
