Crossing the border at International Falls

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been discussed recently. But I have heard that there are new regs going in place about crossing the border. Are they in effect this year?? Anyone recently crossed over at the International falls border?? If so, did they require anything other than a drivers license - like a birth certificate or passport???

Thanks!!!!!!! heading up in September and wanted to be sure everything went smooth!

It's the same that it has been. They ask for your picture ID coming back in and you should always have your birth cert. or passport in case they ask going in to Canada. I believe that in 2008 they will require a passport. Might as well get ready in advance.

FYI, the '08 passport thing is likely dead. Nobody wants it, so US is backing off. Bring birth certificates for any kids that don't have photo id. No potatos and no dog food with any beef in it (chicken, lamb is okay.)

We will be crossing the border Saturday morning the 27th of August and the outfitter said we might want to get an early start. Does anybody know how early we should cross to avoid long lines?
