my advice would be to test drive them both!! man if you are going to spend that kind of money, climb into them, drive them ,and get a feel for yourself. check out motor combinations, and options. i'm partial to rangers, but both are very good rigs!

You definately get more boat for your money with the Triton. I looked/tested boats for a couple of months before getting one. I fished without the plug in for 2 hours the other day, and hardly had any water in there. I don't think sinking is a problem in the new boats these days, no matter what the brand.

Will they let you test drive just about any setup you're looking at, or just what they have available or already setup? That's interesting to me that they do that, as I never knew they'd allow that kind of thing. Of course, I haven't done much boat shopping in my day either.

Also, how does that work...does the salesman hook up a boat and take you out or do they typically already have boats on a lake where the two of you just go and hop in and take off?

Curious.

I may be partial to Stratos, but I would ask why you think that the bottom of the line Ranger would still be better? I have ridden in most kinds of bass boats and find my stratos to ride just as good or better as any of them. Dry, smooth ride with some of the fastest hand made hulls in the industry, not stamped out of a production line. Now I would have no problem with a Ranger or Triton myself, just that for the same money I got alot more boat and have never regretted it once.

But the hunt is part of the fun, good luck.

basscatcher-I would assume would only do test drives of what they have in stock, yet then again if they dont have what you want in stock, how can you buy it from them anyway?... I would NEVER, EVER, NO WAY, NO HOW buy a boat that I had not driven yet. Peroid, No question!!!! IF there was a set up I wanted, I would find one and ask for a test drive...

The way it usually works is the sales man will most deffinatly be with you, usually they use thier vehicle to pull the boat to a near by boat landing and will do all the launching... Once at the lake they may tell you a little about how to drive it. Then hand you the steering wheel. Would you ever buy a car without driving it first? I wouldn't... a boat is no different! I even drove to Bowling Green Kentucky and insisted on a test drive before buying the boat.

i dont own a boat but i would consider a Warrior probably cuz I'm a multi-species fisherman. Plus they can take a pounding if you have to cross some open rough water like here on lake of the woods. I fished out of just about every kind of bass boat and the warrior boat i was in ran side by side with a stratos and he had a 150 suzuki and the warrior had 125 merc/tiller. I would have to say I liked the warrior the best. They have good storage, good size casting platforms, look sharp can do what any other bass boat can do. The worst one I think was a Hydrostream boat, it was nice to stay flat on the turns but once you hit some pretty good chop you sure took a beating on the waves. Just my thought I'd share my input. But that would be the boat I would buy is a Warrior. Good luck in what you choose. Brian
