  1. you should spend a little more money on a rod that comes with a life time warranty. Trust me, it comes in very handy. I broke 3 rods this year while setting the hook and got all of them replaced for FREE (gotta love st croix and fenwick). Most you will have to pay is shipping. good luck.
  2. if you put a small weight in front of the senko you can actually walk the dog under the water. For some reason northerns love that.

    Helppppp!

i dont think you were doing anything wrong. sometimes fish are very finiky. you may have been doing the right thing but sometimes color, size, speed of the lure has a lot to do with it.
  4. Quote: Hey guys, I'm mostly a walleye guy, but I'm heading up to vermillion next week and hopefully will run into some smallies. My question is how do you guys fish senkos for smallies....wacky rigged, drop shot, texas rigged? Also what type, size of hooks do you prefer. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks, WV For hooks i like to use the red gamagatsu hooks and size 2 i think works best
  5. yea i just talk to the guy at wayzata bait store and they do shimanos $18.00 each. He said they pretty much take the whole thing apart, clean it and completely rebuild it. Seems like a good deal to me.
  6. I Want new guids on my rods cuz a few are bent and i need my shimanos cleaned. I dont feel like shipping. Are there any places that can do it local?
  7. Quote: Quote: Quote: People can get a fancy boat all they want... but it's not the boat that catches the fish. If anything, I get a kick out of someone who comes roaring up in their $30k+ bass boat and can't catch squat while they watch us haul in fish after fish. Then they get frustrated and leave... to which I then laugh. Whats nice about a nice fast bass boat is you can get to your spots first. When im on my friends boat, when we see someone heading towards out spot, we just gun it, cut them off and start fishing. Its great seeing their faces seeing us get there first and they got to go find another spot. I hope your joking, because this is exactly what everyone is complaining about. If not, this is probably the wrong place to post your comment , and that is very rude to do by the way. Well theres more to it than that. For example when we launch there are a few people launching ahead of us. On certain lakes you know which spot the guy is going simply by the direction. We have a faster boat so we just get there a few minutes ahead of time. Its not like we cut them off right before they get there. because we have a faster boat we are there several minutes b4 them.

  9. Well we will never know will we? the whole formula to guess weight by multiply length x girth divided by e=mc^2 to the 10th power then take the square root of Pi to formulate the obdula oblongata of the derivitive of the s factor to determine weight is stupid. Spend 20 bucks, get a digi and no one will ever doubt you again. And im not taking anything away from seterguys fish. I said it looks like a 4 pounder (which is a nice fish).
  10. nice fish, did you guys weigh the thing? looks like a 4 pounder. I always got the digital scale with me so people wont try to downplay my fish
  11. if that actually did happen...could the guys still get ticketed/fined?
  12. Quote: You guys are far too kind, .. However, I will get a littel better set up.. I do belive there is a night bite.. there were smaller fish(I assumed sunfish, but no way of knowing) that were on the surface feeding much of the night I was out. I through topwaters trying to get a larger fish(I didn't care what it was) to no avail.... I think a black light may be my next buy... you should get the black light that can be strapped around your head too so you can see what your doing. I know REI sells them
  13. If cost is no matter then you should get the new shimano currado in the 5:1 gear ratio, its made for cranking.
  14. you need a ranger or a triton with a 250 hp motor in order to fish tournaments. Dont forget you need at least 15+ rods and one of those pro staff shirts that say ranger or triton on the back with your name stitched on the front.
