Corey Bechtold
Quote: Try Power Pro and you wont use Fireline again. Smaller diameter in same test weight as well. I tried Power Pro and liked it for one year. Then I started to see the wear and lost fish . Right back to Fireline for me . I'm glad there are so many different options out there so that everyone can be happy and catch more fish. If it aint broke don't fix it IMO. Good Luck, Corey Bechtold
SledNeck
When I was in the military I showed up to work one day and forgot to bring my bdu shirt to alterations because the regulation change went into effect where we had to now have our majcom patch sew on. Well I was the only one without the patch. They had some patches in a desk there so I grabbed one and grabbed some fireline that was in the lounge and sewed on my patch. Didnt look the best BUT i was now back in regs. Thank You fireline!
Big Julie
Corey, what wear, where? How is fireline different? I used fireline a half a dozen years ago and have been using p-line lately. I did something today I maybe shouldn't have... I bought a 6 1/2' Medium heavy action GLX. I put PP 8 on it and jigged for eyes today. Oh my God! What sensitivity. The rod coupled with the pp line... I can't wait for the eyes to really get going. What a blast.
CNY Tim
Corey - Fireline has been fantastic for me wading and casting HJ-10 Husky Jerks and Smithwick Super Roques for walleyes. I use the 2/8 fireline and can really launch my cranks with em and the sensitivity of a 7'0 medium light graphite rod. Having a soft tip rod helps reduce the shock and you don't need more than a flick of the wrist on the hookset to get the trebs bedded. Awesome line and on my 3rd year with it as well I don't use flouro either I tie direct to duo lock snap and that's it.
DanS
I've used 4lb fireline for trolling crankbaits for years now. The other day I wanted to hit a shallow run and grabbed my sons rod with momo for a pass or two instead of changing lures. It was worse than trying to pick up a penny with boxing gloves on. Now both my boys are rigged with fireline also. Heres a trick I use to extend the life on the line. After a year of use I reverse the line so the bottom of the spool is now the top. Its like new line again and is easy to do by spooling onto another reel or running your line out and swapping ends.
