CrappieTom Panfish Plastics - Stub-grub & Rat-tail

Recommended Posts

The CrappieTom Stub Grub and Rat Tail have already proven their worth out on the water this year and are now available here on FM and Tackle City...

Both styles incorporate a slow fall technique, this is caused by their unique "ribbed/ringed" design. The texture and appeal of these plastics are like no other. The color options are widespread and the ways to present these plastics are no different.

The Stub Grub has a "paddy" style tail, which causes the plastic to glide and swim in the water, and at even a slow pace. Just simply dynamite on crappies and sunfish!

The Rat Tail again has the same ribbed body as the Stub Grub, but with a stinger/rat style tail. This plastic doesn't fall quite as slow as the Stub Grub, but it still incorporates a slowfall approach none the less. The straight, pointed tail allows for more of a darting/injured minnow look when on the fall/descending phase. Great for triggering fish in both aggressive and negative moods.

I prefer to fish these with a collarless jig of some sort, 1/32oz has been working the best for me. They can be fished under a float/bobber or else without a float and just pitched out and retrieved back. With the slowfall action these plastics provide, it makes fishing them without a float a whole lot easier when compared to other plastics. I don't have to worry about tossing the plastic out into the water and having hit bottom before I get a chance to work any sort of sequence. The plastic glides smoothly through the water and the action can be up to you if you desire, or else let the natural action of the plastic do all the work.

These plastics have honestly been a mainstay of mine so far this open water season, and not a day goes by when I'm targeting panfish that either a Stub Grub or Rat tail (or both) get a workout. I'm very excited to see these being sold here on FM and Tackle City as they have already helped me land more fish, and I'm willing to bet they will help you as well. An outstanding product! smile.gif

I'm not sure where they stand on gift cards, but I'm sure something can be worked out. They have a couple really nice Stub Grub and Rat Tail kits available at the store as well, a nice assortment of colors in both styles.

Add me to the list of people who love Crappie Toms grubs.

He sent me a sampler pack earlier in the year & I've had good luck on a lot of the colors that are available.

I'm not as good looking as Matt so I won't post the pictures laugh.gif

edit:

Crappie Tom is a great guy!

Indeed. I mentioned the sampler pack, little did I know when I got them there was like 50 of them in there. Some sampler.

I tried to make him take some money but he wouldn't have it.

(please...I'm not suggesting everyone ask Tom for a sampler here, they are worth whatever they are asking)

One more edit (can you tell I like these yet?)

I was suprised at how well that dark blue head/chartreuse tail worked. Also did very well on the rootbeer color.

That along with my personal favorite (black head/char tail) this is truly a unique bait.

Anyone else have "favorite" colors?

Uh Oh! One more edit wink.gif

I went to the tackle city HSOforum listed above & see you are selling packs of 100 for $11.95. WoW. What a great price. Worth every penny.

Might I suggest to whoever that they make 4 colors available in the 100 pack?

Also, would you consider selling them in 50 packs?

These grubs are durable & last a long time.

Thanks again Crappie Tom for such a great product.
