I am going to tell it how it is. The Twins are for real and they have been for the last 5 years. They have been either the best or very near the top of the AL in almost every pitching stat year in...year out.

Sox are better than before, yes. But I wouldn't say that Twins only hope is the wildcard. Are you on drugs? crazy.gif We have like 13 or something games left with them. That'll decide it.

Tamba Bay could never win the Central and it's not near as bad as you make it out to be.

Shoulda woulda coulda, and it you had half a brain you would not still be living in your EX BOYFRIENDs basement.

Hmm change it from Parent's basement to this??

Now that's a response for the ages. Ex-Boyfriends basement is a really intelligent response.

To a Pro-Staff cordinator- why do you let people like this post on this HSOforum??

Genegodawa... hope your not offended, I realize not all IL folk are FIB's, you seem pretty normal and well spoken in your posts... hey, you must be a Cub's fan, that explains it. We'll just consider ourselfs friends until Twins & Cubs meet at the series.

Hey Hooked,

No real prob about the FIB comment. I know who it was meant for. Besides, I can take it and I can dish it out.

My boss should read what you said about my posts. One time I included my personal opinion in a business email a few yrs ago and she has branded me as a "poor" written communicator. Memory like an elephant and just like some females you might also know- can't understand normal thinking. Oops...that was a personal opinion.

Are all Twinky fans stupid or what? What would you call a team that lost 111 games last year, is three games over .500 this year and is 3rd in a division of 5. Should we alert Cooperstown and tell them to start engraving 24 new plaques? You guys have obviously been breathing too many exhaust fumes from your two strokes. Maybe you should switch to a console instead of a tiller. I will say it again, if the Sox lose tonight then they will have BEEN SWEPT BY A MEDIOCRE TEAM. You guys should worry more about losing to a team that went south of mediocre along time ago. Santana could not close the deal and once again DID NOT GET THE WIN and you could lose tonight to a really lousy Giants team. And you are still trailing us, boy oh boy, I never realized what panicky whiny fans the Twinks had. If you are convinced that you will win again, why don't you relax and let it happen. Sounds like a bunch of fair weather fans whose undies are in a bunch!

What was that you were saying Buzzy?

What's the score on the Sox game?

Just askin' since you seen to be a closet Sox fan. Come on Buzzy, let's see those silver and black skivys you are sitting around up there in "God's Country" downing the second six pack of Blatz and munching on deer jerkey sitting in your double-wide.

I ran out of Deer jerky a few months ago and my double wide cost 649,000... I guess I got ripped off! or maybe the whole lake thing had something to do with the cost... Geez, your team must have put up like eight runs in an inning for you to be spoutin' that white creamy stuff from your mouth...

The man pitched very good today, but was out dueled by Mark Prior of the Cubbies! I think Gene is smiling right now! As am I for him and his taking two of three from the Sox!

You know it Buzz! And a Twins win today makes it even better.

Thank God I won't have to listen to Windy bad-mouth our stud Prior or the old-man Maddux for a little while at least. Geez, if the Cubbies taking 2 out of 3 doesn't show how mediocre the Sox are, I guess it must show just how good the Cubs really can be? Either way, city braggin' rights are now with me (and with NevadaTim and MuskyMark and most of those fans that filled up "the Cell"). By the way, any bets on how far attendance will drop from 39,000 the next Sox series? I'll guess about half.

Now, as the Sox start to play some tough opponents instead of those KC-type clubs, we will find out how mediocre they really are.

Exit stage left, enjoying the weekend series all the way....

Congrats Gene to your cubbies and believe me I am very impressed with the Cubs play being without Prior and Woods they have been staying within striking distance of the Cards and I wouldn't concede this division to St. Louis, not by a long shot.

Yep Tim, way too early to concede anything. I lived through '69 so I know that is true.

Oh Windy, Windy, wherefore art thou, Windy?

I know, I know, 'tis bettter to be in first than never to have been there at all.

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...

Gene, you know by now that he only plays when his team wins or your team (Cubs or Twins) are losing. There is no second guessing this as he has proven it to be a fact.

That is certainly the perception. I would like to think he is better than that though. I do know he admits to not ever saying anything positive about the Cubs. Not much to say now, right? Can't stir the pot if it is empty, huh?

Once again, Geno is "The Mighty Carnak". As Ed McMahon said to the Mighty Carnak, "You are correct, sir". I didn't forget about you Geno, if you read one of the other threads on this forum that was posted even before my Pale Hose pounded the stuffing out of the Cubbies on Friday, you will see that I had many things to do this weekend and I didn't even get to watch more than an inning or two in any of the games. Bachelor party first, then rehersal dinner then the wedding (my sister-in-law) an informal reception at our house in between the wedding and the actual reception and work on Sunday. So once again, Geno is the winner! Sorry Buzzy! As for mediocre, I guess the White Sox are the most mediocre team with 50 wins this year, in fact they are the ONLY team with 50 wins this year. First to 10 wins, first to 20 wins, first to 30 wins, first to 40 wins and first to 50 wins. They now have 4 pitchers with as good if not better records of THE GREATEST PITCHER EVER TO RUB A ROSIN BAG, YO-HAN. He would look might fine in a White Sox uniform as our 5th starter. So, again, as Bluto said, "What's with all this, MEDIOCRE, stuff? Twinkies and Sox have played the exact number of games and the Sox now hold a 9 game lead. By the way...What is the Sox magic number? Is it something like 80, I'm sure one of the Twinky fans in the know will have the answer.

Now Geno, Do I have to come up to the north side and smoke the peace pipe with you? As Wally said to the Beav, "Don't let Eddie bother you Beav, he's just givin' ya the business". The up I was refering to was you saying that you had bragging rights this year after the last series, to which I pointed out (with my rappier like wit) that the series this year was knotted up 3-3. Asking you to break the tie in October was giving you props in thinking that the Cubbies could actually make it to the series. Don't ya see the logic there, Geno? You know that I am just messin with you (and Buzzy also, but don't tell him that) I actually like going toe to toe (or belly to belly) with my brother from the North. Some of the others get annoying but I like dueling with Buzzy. (And I will deny it, if you tell him that, Geno) Anywho, everybody wins tonight so there is peace in the midwest tonight (except for Backherup, remember Backherup, "It's not personal, it's just business" said Michael Corleone.

I gotta admit that when Pudge tripled in the ninth I was pulling for the Tigers, but Hermanson was great for the ChiSox.

OK, so now I knows what you was talkin' 'bout. October it'll have to be to settle this mess.

Oh yeah, regardless of our baseball aficionadem, GOOD LUCK with those walters in July. Somebodys got to get 'em.

CNY Tim,

Thanks for the props, my man. Question? What the heck was up with Ozzie tonight? He uses every arm in the bull pen EXCEPT for his ace closer and still WINS THE GAME? I was throwing things at my big screen when Shingo proceeded to load the bases and Ozzie did not bring in Dustin. Got to love The Big Hurt, 12 hits this year 8 for round trippers.

And as a bonus, the lowly Royals give the Twinks an afternoon "beat down".
