BLACKJACK
Don't put your sodas next to the dry ice, they will freeze and pop, making a heck of a mess. Don't know where you get it?
IFallsRon
If you're crossing at Int'l. Falls, you can get dry ice at Sportsman's Service. Post your question on the Rainy Lake forum, fishmeister can help there, too.
cookboy
The Country Store in Cook has dry ice. If you want to call ahead to make sure they've got it (they almost always do). The # is 218 666 2272.
Eric Wettschreck
With your bounty in the cooler, put some regular ice on top of it, and the dry ice on top of the regular ice. You don't want the dry ice touching your fillets. It will burn them.

IFallsRon
Dry Ice changes directly from a solid to a gas — sublimation — in normal atmospheric conditions without going through a wet liquid stage. Therefore it gets the name "dry ice."As a general rule, dry ice will sublimate at a rate of five to ten pounds every 24 hours in a typical ice chest. This sublimation continues from the time of purchase, therefore, pick up dry ice as close to the time needed as possible. Bring an ice chest or some other insulated container to hold the dry ice and slow the sublimation rate. Dry Ice sublimates faster than regular ice melts but will extend the life of regular ice. Powerstroke
Its nearly impossible to make dry ice last. It doesn't work like that. If you take it out of its frozen state at something like -40*F then it will begin its slow decline. Its something like 1-lb of dry ice lasts one hour.HAving a quality cooler is more important that having dry ice. You can pick it up in several places along the border. Border Bob's in Int. Falls is where we get ours. The ads they hand out on the street usually have a coupon.
