3D Shoots

I went to my first 3D shoot this weekend and loved it. If anyone knows of any more coming up would you post the info on here. I think I found a new obsession.

Check your local archery shops they usually have a bunch listed.. Bald Eagle archery club puts a very good ones.. and so does Chilicoot archery club... those are my 2 faves! However, I dont know if they have any shoots comming up.. I would be willing to bet they are however! Last year I shot the World Qualifier at Chilicoot, I think I finished 9th in my class... great shoot!

Where are Chilicoot and the Bald Eagle archery club? I'd like to find some more 3D shoots in central MN... They are fun and are excellent training for hunting.

Also go to bowsite dot com, they have a MN sections that list some 3D shoots. Problem is that most of them are in southern or eastern MN.

yeah i found that list. i know there are quite a bit in the ottertail area. There were papers for all the upcoming shoots, but i forgot to grab one. if anyone knows a schedule of ones in this area, please post the dates and times.

just did my first 3D shoot yesterday and had a blast, am going back on wednesday and am probably gonna buy the 10 package plan. This was at Up North Archery just outside of Bemidji. The best was they had a beaver at 40 yards!!

Its fun to take those long shots of 60 plus yards at big elk or caribou. Those are my favorite shots to take. I also liked a shot that was around 45 yards to a bedded deer where you had to shoot through V in the trunk of a tree.

My favorate 3D shoots are the ones where the shots are realistic hunting situations, 20 - 35 yards. Good practice for the season.

The majority of this one was 30-40 yard shots with a few longer and a few shorter.

Twin Arrows is the name of a shop up by Braham, MN (NW of Rush Lake). Behind the shot is a 3-D range. I don't have details about actual shoots but this would be a place to go for 3-D practice. Watch out for the tree climbing gator. Coon Rapids Archery club also has shoots at the Bunker Hills ARchery complex. Shot one there Sunday and there were alot of good uphill and downhill shots. I don't have their schedule but someone here probably does.

I shot the Toad Lake shoot, and it was awesome. It was beautiful land and it had some unique targets. It had a buffalo, albino deer, a shot from a saddle, and some other great shots.

We do a 3-D here in Fertile April and August. Tentative dates Aug. 13 &14. All modesty aside its one of the better shoots around. Excellent terrain. Similar to Toad Lake.
