Twins Bashing Article

I don't think they could GIVE Lohse away. But there is good news- An article the other day said Lohse's next start has been pushed back to 4/27-so they can "work" on things in the pen w/ him. That is putting it nicely, I guess. Anyway, we don't have to worry about being down 4-0 in the 2nd inning for five more days!

Name recognition? Quick, list 2 white sox players.... uh, didn't Frank softy Thomas retire? Or has he been on the 15-year disabled list? Magglio?

Pale sox will fall off come June/July as usual.

"I dislike the Twins. And they know I dislike them." Yeah, right. They don't know this little beat writer is alive.

I got a kick out of how he said Harmon Killibrew & somebody else don't count as recognizable Twins stars, yet he fails to mention, Oliva or Allison, not to mention Hall of Famers Pucket & Karew. That's along with a handfull of the other well known current Twins players.

Hey Backherup,

You got your ears on out there. You have to check out this wonderfully written article that has the undies of every Twinkie-lovin' fan in such a bunch. I know that you will make copies of this article and send it to all the good people of the greater Detroit area. Bye the bye, congrats on a well played game Friday night. Nice catch by your left fielder, I think Lou Ford is still running out his triple that was snatched away. And cudos to Pudge. I think I heard him say to Mr. Mullholland, "Say hello to my leetle friend" right before he launched the walkoff homer! Here's hoping your Tigers can keep up the good work. Talk to you soon my friend, and as usual...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD.....YES!

Hey Rundrave,

Thought I would "drop a dime" on your thoughts about equating attendance with quality. First of all our park is 15 years old, I don't know how that qualifies as new but have fun driving your "new" 1990 Pinto. As for attendance, if popularity equals quality then I guess that the Ford Escort is a far superior car to a Mercedes Benz since it sold more than 10 times the number of cars. There may be a few more factors to consider when you look at attendance. First, we have another professional baseball team that happens to play just a stone's throw from US Cellular Field. I would love to see how many fans the Twinkies would draw to the "baggie dome" if there were teams in both St. Paul and Minneapolis. Second, we happen to have a playoff bound NBA team in the same city (6 time World Champion Bulls) but so does Minnesota....Wait, I forgot, the Timberpups went from the penthouse to the outhouse this year in their choke towards the playoff wannabes. Third and finally, the beautiful town known as the Windy City has many things to occupy peoples time with our world class museums, theatres, concert halls and restaurants. We don't just fill our time watching a punch and judy team play baseball or stare down an ice hole waiting for a fish to chomp our minnow. NEWS FLASH...WELCOME CEDRIC BENSON TO DA BEARS! And as always....YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES!

Upon further review, it is determined the bears still suck. This is the first time in how many years any of the Chicago teams have had a better season than a Minnesota team? Oh yeah i guess like 3 years ago the bears had a fluke season but we all know that wont happen again for like 12 years. Yeah the bulls had a great run, i wont dispute that, MJ was the best ever and always will be in my eyes.

If theres a team in the AL central that needs too be bashed it sure as he!! isnt the twins. They are not a big market team, the way baseball is set up they shouldnt even be in the mention for division crowns, but yet they have 3 in a row. They dont buy their wins, they dont try too buy their wins, they do it the old fashion way by having a great farm system. Thats pretty common knowledge and its nothing too be bashed about, they should be commended over and over for it. The white sox have had the talent the last couple years and they continue too dump the bed and we all know it will come again at some point this season. This writer bashes the twins for all this, cant beat the yanks, and this and that, well what the he!! does that say about your hometown sox? They cant get by the lowly twins? What a pathetic organization and all of baseball and its fans know it. And the tigers?? 2 years removed from 120 losses, no need too even have too go there, they have spoken well enough for themselves.

Lets face it the only real reason that people hate the twins is they are winners. They have beat up your teams the last couple years when they shouldnt have.

alright windy city walleye hunter, I admit I took your bait and you sure did stir up the pot. But I have wasted enough time stooping to your level.

If you want to compare apple to apples, and then go compare apples to oranges, I along with every one else here could go on all day. Your analogies are absolutely hilarious I love it.

My comments directed towards your stadium as far as being new relate to this:

In 2003, the White Sox and U.S. Cellular forged a partnership, allowing for dramatic renovations to the staduim in the next several years. Several renovations, including a new video board in center field and a "fan deck," have been made prior to the 2003 season. Formerly known as Comiskey Park, U.S. Cellular Field opened on April 18, 1991 and was the first new sports facility built in Chicago since Chicago Stadium in 1929. The ballpark includes a 37-foot wide, 26-foot tall JumboTron scoreboard. The park has been used in many commercials and several movies, including "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "Major League II."

sounds pretty new to me.

As for you having 2 ballclubs, chicago area has a population of 9million, where mnpls/st. paul just under 3 million, big difference, plus who doesnt enjoy a baseball game at wrigley. Also if the T-wolves played in the Junior Varsity Eastern division, they would be in the play-offs along with your banged up bulls who wont make it past the first round. But the wolves didnt deserve the playoffs so we dont need to get into that.

also the cubs attendance is double yours and basically sell out every home game if they are winning or not, obsviously the great city of chicago doesnt support the white sox.

Well I am out, ESPN classic is running reruns of Viola, Morris, Puckett, and those 2, count'em 2 world series rings. I cant wait till fall, maybe you guys might get the wild card this year, its a long season, will see what happens.

LOL it looks like the white sox played a 1.5-1 run game themselves today and they couldnt even get the 1.5 runs. We'll see you later in the week windy after your team wins another game, im sure we wont hear from you while your team is hitting the skids.

You're right James. My beloved have hit the skids, suffering their worst losing streak this year, 2!

Nice game against that triple A team in KC, you just might sweep them, but then again, so could a decent high school team! See how you do against a real team on Friday. GO ANGELS! YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! Windy

Best start in the history of the franchise, look at that bulging 3 game lead it has given the white sox.

The white sox havent played a team over .500 yet so im not sure what you are talking about man. Anyone knows when both of these teams start playing other divisions the twins are built too last longer with their depth at pitching. Thats just common sense.

Okay I'm on your side James, but the Sox have played the Twins 5 times & we're definitely over .500...

The way those games went we could easily be 3-2 against them instead of 1-4, but it will balance out.

Looks as if you people have never seen another city's newspaper before. confused.gif

Having traveled the world many times over, you come to realize that "local writer's" tend to be biased (Dan Barreiro, thank goodness he was fired from the StarTrib) and opinionated toward their particular employer. It is their job to represent their city in a favorable fashion.

The writer's for your hometown papers are some of the worst in this country. Namely, Patrick Reusse. Absolute embicile. Writes like he's mixing Percocet and alcohol, and sounds like he talks with a mouthful of dry Cheerios...

I also showed some friends in Los Angeles a Sid Hartman column (now there's a genius) and they couldn't believe their eyes...then I played them a tape of an interview I'd recorded off WCCO-830 and they about died laughing, saying "when the h-ll was this guy born? He sounds old as dirt and has trouble verbalizing his thoughts, how could he have a qualified opinion much less a job?" He also sounds like as if he mixes narcotics and alcohol while attempting to sequester his thoughts into verbal fashion while fighting off a stuttering disorder.

Don't point fingers about other opiniated reporters, until you hear what other people think about your hometown (Contact US Regarding This Word) "PA and Dubay". Those two are complete morons and could only be working in Minnesota because Jeff Dubay is pretty uneducated and misinformed and (Hey! Buzzsaw! If you have an "infatuation" with the word masturbatory, learn how to spell it!grin.gif) talk about a mastur-buzz-ory and premature verbal ejaculator! Paul Allen, if you need be told, couldn't hold down a job in California (where the media jobs pay real well)...no, he ended up in Minneapolis...where you dorks worship him... confused.gif

Gosh, I could go on and on about "Minnesota's finest"...but, I'll stop now...

You people need to travel (out of the state!), is all I can say. It's the best education in the world...now, go get smart.

Fishing Minnesota says:

NO bickering, ax grinding, trolls, or hostile posts allowed. You may be banned if you are involved. smirk.gif

[Note from admin: get real backherup - it's obvious to most, except the clueless, that we do allow plenty of leeway in the sports forums when it comes to trash talking]
