Marcum LX-3 Transducer

AlexHeihn

Question

Hey There~

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with their Marcum ducers not picking up jigs unless the gain is turned way up... I have heard that their was a mildly defective batch of them... Note, the jigs are good sized and should be showing up easily.

Thanks~

Both my brother and I bought Marcum LX 3's last winter. Both have had problems with it picking up the bait...other users are on 2 - 2 1/2 while we were on 7 or higher and even then it wouldnt pick it up. They sent us each a new transducer..now they work.

I am not an electronics guru, but my buddy is pretty darn sharp. While the high watt output is one of their selling points, it may also be harder on on the transducer. Personally, I think the incidence of this is higher than they would like, but whatever the case...if you have problems they were really good about the service. smirk.gif

Yesterday I was fishing 80' and had it cranked to the max to pick up a 1/4 glider head and 4 inch tube all the way through the water column. I'll try again with the same rig after I swap ducers.

Got a new ducer 2 days after Marcum Customer Service's prompt reply to my email. Hooked it up and it seems to have made a world of difference. Much more accurate and sensitive. Cool! Thanks!!
