March Coyote

It's been some tough hunting here in the NW part of the state. I came across this fella on my way to work the other morning. I guessed the range to be around 400 yards when I squeezed the trigger. After work, I hiked out and picked him up and ranged the distance. It was 421 yards. Considering this is the only varmint I had in the scope all year, I'm pretty happy.

It's a Remington 700VLS .223Cal with a 3x9x50 Leupold scope....

Nothing better than a coyote to start your day off! I shot one on my way to work one day (when I taught back in MN). I tell you what, I wore a smile all day!
