In either order Im pumped to get up there! I havent fished Rainy threw the ice for years. I hope there is a good bite going in the bay so all the guys without sleds can get on some fish. If not Im sure we will still manage to have a good time. I may bring a sled just in case.

Northlander, Dont worry talked to my buddy last night in Rainer, all the fishing any good close is in sand bay you can drive a truck out on the roads, the Ice team had the tourney last weekend most of the teams fished sand bay, that's the best bite now, should be fun with some catching going on. grin.gif

Ummmm Paul and Dietz, that's where the great fisherman shine's everyone in a big group spread out four feet apart, grills cooking and fish biting no need to travel far on sand bay because that's where the bite is, do I smell brats on a grill. grin.gif

FNB,

Dietz has been talking smack for a couple of months now and I just needed to put him in his place. He couldn't catch a cold in a hospital! grin.gif

There will be lots of odors associated with that grill this coming trip. I'm not sure that all of them will be pleasant blush.gif

BTW, anyone coming on this trip should make sure that they are bringing their extensions. They will be needed.

Hey FMrs count me in for the party as well one other!!!

A friend and I will be driving up for Rainey friday evening or saturday morning from Grand Rapids and plan on fishing w/ ya'll saturday at rainey and then sunday at LOW.

One question, okay maybe two-I have never fished rainey and am wondering if we can drive a house on wheels out to where the fishing is?

We are just finishing up w/ a kenworth sleeper cab w/ crank down wheels and am wondering if we can tow it out to the fishing spots w/ minimal problems w/ a 4x4?

question #2 is if so is there a nightbite on Rainey?

if so I think we'll just sleep out on the lake, if not please let me know and we'll leave it behind and use the otter.

This is a trip I have been planning for a while. It will be a lot of fun to have a whole group of FM'ers up there! I am bringing 3 Nebraskans along - one who has never ice fished.

We plan to hit Red on Friday and then head to the Rambler after the evening bite is done. Anyone want to hit Red with us and fish three exceptional lakes in one weekend? (Red/Rainy/LOW) You are more welcome to tag along, or better yet help us out! I have been up to Red about 25 times in the last 4 years, and I still haven't caught a limit - I did come close last year at the ICE series, but was short by 2 slabs.

See ya'll on the 18th!!

Ethan send me an email about this event, Im planning on doing the same...

Forcast for next weekend:

Thu Mar 17 Few Snow Showers

33°/19°

Fri Mar 18 Few Snow Showers

33°/18°

Sat Mar 19 Snow Shower

34°/22°

Sun Mar 20 Snow Shower

32°/19°

Without the snow I would say it might be a rather nice weekend. I'm pumped to meet up with any FM'ers I haven't had a chance to meet on this trip. Northlander, looks like I will be done with work around 3pm on Thursday. You have any thoughts about heading up early? I am not much for midnight drives and being that Thursday IS St. Patties day. I'm not kind to the idea of those who will be on the roads that night.

Northlander & Cheffrey,

We may be able to leave on Thursday afternoon also. Just need to know what you guys are up to and we can try and make some plans. I also have to check with Matt. Finding a room would be nice also. I would think there would still be rooms open on Thursday.

Take care,

Tom (BD110)

Sence we were talking about two way radios earlier, I thought I would pass this on to anyone wanting to buy the motorolas. The new Dick's sporting goods has them on sale for 34.98 final cost and they are the rechargable 7 miler. Think I got somewhere to go grin.gif
