farmislandeye
Does anyone know why it doesent snow anymore???Where is there snow at?
icehousebob
Central Minnesota has spent much of this winter locked between a split jet stream. There has been snow north of the upper one and south of the lower one. We're caught in the middle doldrums. That's what Channel 11 weather people say. efgh
Don;t lose faith, you will probley be up to your buns in snow before spring gets here, In 1951 we had a open winter, no snow to speak of till the 1st of march, then it snowed and blew purn near every day for the rest of the month. In may there were still snow banks on the north sides of building sites, big ones. Just a old timers remerence.
dsludge
Ditto. This winter came in like a lamb and will likely go out like a lion.dsludge
Macgyver55
You are all way too technical and deep thinking. The easy explaination is, that after riding the same old sled for 14,000 miles I finally bought a new one. Its as simple as that!
The Grebe
Yes, I positively know why it does'nt snow anymore, because snow removal is what I do for a living in the winter and because I bought a new plow to compliment the old one! In light of that, I guess it is my fault and I don't know what to say? This summer, I will return the plow, or sell it outright, so that it does'nt interfer with next winters snow! I"m a bad man! Dan Thiem
Grebe,Will you buy a new riding mower? That way the grass won't grow and I won't have to mow.
Moose-Hunter
Grebe's right. It is his fault. Well, maybe not entirely..... I'm in snow removal as well and it happens all the time. Someone buys a new plow or someone doubles the number of their residential accounts (guess who?) you end up having an almost snowless season. So I'll pull some of that weight off your shoulders, Grebe. For this season anyway.
Nutty Fisherman
If all the rain was snow we are having in the southern part of MN. we would have plenty of snow to ride on, or do what ever you do with snow. I drove by a lake today and it looks like it is open. I bet that is slippery as ****
efgh
The only good thing about rain this time of year is you don;t have to shovel it, the bad thing is what it does to the ice, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE ALL OF YOU FISHER PERSONS, keep your eyes open for bad spots. The_Duckslayer
Quote: I bet that is slippery as **** Nutty, You are correct! I came off the lake about noon. There were spots that the portable house was floating rather than skimming the ice. I can attest to the fact that it was actually that slick! I made it from the middle of the lake to the shore without falling though! Plus I had 10 VERY nice Crappie in the bucket. The Grebe
Dan... can't do that, bought a new zero turn two years ago and barely use it...this summer we are expanding and I hope the grass grows like crazy...that thing has to start earning it's keep! The Grebe
Moose...It's comforting to know that there are two sets of shoulders to bear the responsibility and take the credit for this snowless winter! We increased our summer contracts by 1/3 last season, that did'nt affect our winter operation at all...lack of snow sure did! We are looking for the same increase this season, by expanding into a couple of new areas...it certainly has been a challenging winter!
