ksdog
Been having probs with my little ultra light reels binding while cranking and poor line management. Want to be able to cast small jigs and spinners, reel slowly without binding, and have no line coil issues. What do you guys like ?
Wayne Ek
ksdog... take a look at Quantums Kinetic PT,size 10. It does a great job as a light or ultr-light jigging reel for soft water fishing, and them is small enough to switch over to a ice stick for the hard water season. And the PT series have no bail springs to break as it is a magnetic bail trip and a titanium bail. It will set you back about 69 bucks.
1lkstage
I have the Gander Mountian guide series GS4 reel set up with the light action needle rod, works great, don't matter what combination you use, the line you put on your reel, and action of the rod you use is all that is really important, find the reel you like and go! my reels go from ice fishing rod to open water rod every year. Northlander
I really like my Cetus SB500. Great icefishing reel and great for open water Panfish. Also JR's Tackle makes some great 8 ball bearing reels. I have been running 2 of them all winter and they havent let me down. Great price too. Check their HSOforum out. www.jrstackle.com
rangr
I have been using Okuma the last three years. They make a couple of different models that would work for an ultra-lite. Other wise I have used a 7bb reel from California tackle that has a life-time warranty for $29.99. Both reels can be seen on www.midwestrodandreel.com

Captain B.R.K
I will definately go out and stick my head out for JR's Tackle reels! They make a 4BB and 8BB reel and each is very smooth. I have yet to have any problem with the line coiling off and making a mess. For the price - you just can't beat this kind of reel!
hanson
Tica Cetus SB500 is a tough little reel to beat. I've been giving 2 of them a pretty good workout this winter with no problems yet.
