Just wondering if you can legally use rifles to hunt coyote and fox around the Mankato area?

I just called the Sheriff in Sherburne County a few weeks ago just to go over some of the shooting rules in my area, since its getting pretty developed.

They said I am free to shoot a rifle if I want, but that it might not be the best thing to do since there are more and more developments coming in.

But he reiterated, it is 100% legal to shoot rifles if I want to varmint hunt.

If you are near the city of Mankato, give a call to law enforcement to make sure you are not going to cross the line.

PS - I am in the slug zone for deer if you were wondering.

Yes you can under state law. Local ordinances could have restrictions if you are actually talking inside the corporate limits of the City or something like that, but in normal hunting circumstances yes you can.

Thanks. That one was taken in '03 in Wisc. The rack gross scored about 165". By far my biggest deer.
