2 swivel seats or 1 bench seat ?

Ya Hey Der

Question

I've got an medium otter and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation of whether I should get 2 swivel seats or 1 bench seat. I am not sure how much each weighs or how comfortable they are. Any and all opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

I really like the idea of the bench seat, but like someone pointed out to me.. In order to get things out of your sled, you have to lift the seat up. So, I'll stick with one swivel and one fold up chair.

I have a medium otter and was in your predicament the first year I had it. Do I buy swivel seats or do I buy a bench seat.

I bought the swival seat first- was unhappy. Yes it was nice and comfortable, but the $$$ and weight was a bit to heavy for me. I went with a bench seat and have been happy with it. I have sat on the ice all day long at LOTW for a weekend on the bench seat - VERY comfortable.

If you are fishing yourself, then open up your tackle box- you have plenty of room to spread your gear out. If you are with someone else- plenty of space for the legs, body, etc.

It really is a light bench, so if you need to place something under it for storage (ex. auger), lift up and store away.

Between the choices, and I have both, I'd go with the bench seat. Like BRK said, easy to store gear and works as a table, too. Actually, I think the bench would be lighter than two swivel seats also.

Been there, done that. Bench seat all the way. I love how it swings up and I can load all my gear A LOT easier then with the seats, and it's lightweight. I've also been guilty of taking a much needed snooze while on the ice with the bench. grin.gif

Really appreciate the great feedback. I think I will go with the bench seat. Now, I just have to find one.

Butt bridges work nice too (I have two of them) but I think it is time to get something with some cushion. The back can only take so much.

Thanks again and good luck on the ice!

It will fit if you remove the seat. grin.gif Otter designed the bench seat with 2 quick release pins to take the bench seat completely off the sled. Takes, maybe 10 seconds to take it off/put it on. The bench seat is a very lightweight aluminum frame.
