New Voyager

Question

I took a little bit of calling and lot of dumb luck but I now have a Voyager in my garage. Did anyone of you who have bought fish traps before have a hard time getting that piece of black stripping on the back of the sled? It took me longer to get that right than it did getting the rest of the house done. except the seats, those are still waiting to be assembled. I have figured out that Milk crates, not that I have some wink.gif fit right in the back of the sled. Now, what do I need to know before I get it out on the ice monday......any help would be great. I am already planning on getting some red LED rope lights from Home Depot, cutting off the plug and putting on alligator clips for some night time lighting. Thanks for any help you offer, and have a great day everybody, and stay warm........

You said cut off the plug after picking it up at Home Depot..so that is why I am saying this. The rope lighting will need to be 12V, 110V rope will not work. Plus most of that hardware store LED rope is PVC based and will not last in the cold. Avoid the PVC rope it gets as brittle as frozen licorice and the circuit will fail due to separations in the rope.

I am now on the search for a cover....GM in the cities is selectively out. supposedly the ones that are left are going to be distributed to some stores and not others. I am just happy to have the mobility now that I didn't have with the 6800........if anyone see's a voyager cover, let me know....

I have the voyager as well. It took a bit to put it together, but once it is working you will love it! I have the Hyfax and the cover, yet to use either. I pull by hand and put it in my Durango so I will wait till I have the money for that ATV before I worry about it. For me it just seems the hyfax will drag too much for good pulling by hand. I will put them on in a heartbeat if I had an atv. I just us a lantern and it seems to work pretty good. The mobility that this house will give you is awesome!!

I had it out yesterday and you're right, it is awesome. I used to have a 6800 but this thing gives me so much more freedom. I moved 10+ times yesterday, and at no time did I think about not moving like I did with my old houses.....how is the Bear doing this winter. A good friend of mine slayed them on the eagle last week. Of course he didn't take me but he did take my auger, that jerk

Picks,

You can go directly to the clam HSOforum and order the cover, the rope lights you are talking about or whatever accessory you are looking for. I just bought a 2 year old voyager and I love the room I have. I haven't seen the need for a cover or the runners yet, but I hand pull like you do. I park on the ice if I can, or I drop it off as close to the ice as I can so I don't have to drag it across the gravel.

You may want to page down and look at the 12-Volt Rope Lights thread for some more ideas for the Voyager. I setup my house with two of the 1156-36 LED square panels and they work great. JWB475's thread has some good info
