  1. I am going to bow out this time, I have some guys coming over Sat Afternoon to help put the walls up on the fishhouse, then I am going to start on the roof, I have a lot of work to do before the walleye opener. After the outer shell is up, then I can putz around on the fishhouse all summer and still have time to fish.
  2. What color are you looking for, I may have a few cans of some PPG semi gloss black spray cans lying around. may have something else also, won't know until I look.
  3. For me, any duck that actually falls out of the sky is an unusual duck
  4. Poutpro, To add to woody's answer about using aluminum, if you use greentreated wood for the floor then aluminum would not be the way to go. The new AC2 treated plywood corrodes aluminum.. I just did a bunch of online research into this before I purchased my drop down frame. If you use steel frame and use the AC2 treated wood you also need to use 410 or better stainless steel, hot dipped galvinized or ITW Buildex TEKS coated self taping flathead screws, this new treated wood really does a corrosion number on most metals used today. Stainless steel is way to expensive, they don't make hot dipped galvenized self tappers. the Buildex TEKS are pretty cheap, 40-45 bucks for a box of 250. I bought the TEKS at Fastenal company, they have many locations around the state.
  5. Hanson, Is that the steel siding you get from Menards? If not where did you get that? I am in the process of building also. Thanks, Danny
  6. I don't know if the cashiers pay attention to what they are doing or not but I stopped by gander the other day and bought 15.OO dollars worth the fishing line and plastics and gave them a coupon that said 10 bucks off 50 dollar purchase. They accepted the coupon and never told me I needed to buy another 35 bucks worth the stuff. But I am not complaining !!!!
  7. You can make them yourself pretty cheap also. Just get some Plexiglass from your local Lumberyard, borrow the wifes hairdryer and bend away. Just don't leave the hairdryer on one spot to long. Maybe I will get Walleyenutz to chime in on this, he made his own and they work pretty good.

    April Fools ??

How many of you fell for 93X's NHL April Fool Joke this morning? I am guilty.
  9. Walking across the street to my neighbors last night I encountered an out of place bird! A young chukkar, must have got loose from somebodys pen. I told my neighbor to get the pellet gun, then he could try out his new grill Beautiful bird, neighbors wife did get a couple of pictures, he hung out in the yard for a while then jumped up on the roof, then took off towards the river.
  10. No!!!! I would put them away for awhile, A few years from now some collector will be looking for them and you can make your money back + a tad bit more. Or save them for your kids or grandkids, maybe one of them will be a stamp collector...
  11. Yes, there were alot East of Fergus. That area was also thick with Canadians
  12. Lawdog, I went to Bismark on Sat and from East of Fergus Falls to west of Jamestown, the sky was full of Snows, (Hundreds of thousands), I mean every which way you looked, the sky was black with them. On the way back in the afternoon, I didn't see the same numbers but most of them were seen from Jamestown to Valley City.
  13. I tried the bitter apple stuff and it didn't work with my dog. Mom suggested dishsoap and cayanne pepper. Worked pretty good, but then the dog got a taste for hot stuff, got into a bowl of salsa while I wasn't looking, Man did I have a stinky house for a while
  14. I go to Montana every other year to visit Mom. I don't hunt big game there anymore, but I do hunt waterfowl and I do a day trip on the Bighorn for Brownies... use to be 7 dollars to hunt waterfowl, now it is about 75 for non resident license.
  15. Sorry guys not that simple any more. You need to go to the Montana Fish and Game HSOforum at http//fwp.state.mt.us. there you can find all your information.
  16. I have been using tracfone for about 6 years now, the only issue I have had with it is I can't get my voice mail using the phone. I can retrieve the voice mail if I use a landline. I am on my second phone, I upgraded this summer to a digital phone.
  17. Is this a new one with the red outline, or is this one of the first ones that came out. I have one of the first versions that came out and it doesn't even have the safety tip switch installed. I was having problems with mine and after trying a million different fixes that Mr Heater service suggested I try, I purchased a new regulator, and now it runs like new. I would suggest that if you do run this off a 20 lb tank, make sure you get the filter attachment...
  18. AJ, I'm sending you an E-mail Tomorrow about this weekend in Walker.
  19. Did any of you see the fireball in the sky Friday night about 11 pm? I was coming in off the lake and a big fireball was traveling from West to East, I stopped the truck and watched the thing until it broke up into a mess of sparks. Pretty cool, I have seen plenty of falling stars but I have never seen one breakup like that before.
  20. So Haaad, Did you fish the Alex contest? This is the first year I have missed it. Always a good time. The first year there is the only time I caught a fish, I was #25 on the board but by the time the contest was over, I was off the board.
  21. I sit on a bucket and pray that I catch one, then if i do catch one I pray it is big enough to stay on the board.
  22. I have been reading peoples prefrences for fishing line for about 5 years now and have bought a few of the recommended lines, and a few of the cheaper versions. I am now looking for a good 4 to 6 lb ice fishing line that doen't have a memory, I had so many problems with my line tangling this weekend that I now have 4 rods I have to strip and refill the spools, for the second time this year. Any good suggestions? Thanks in advance

    Gulp?

I was at Gander the other day and saw the berkely Crappie Nibblers, so I picked up a small jar of the pink ones. So far they seem to be better than waxies, but have only used them once, will try again this weekend. I also picked up a bag of the crawlers last summer. One day I was having such a good day that I went thru 3 dozen crawlers and 2 dozen leeches. I was having so much fun that I didn't want to leave, I remembered that I had bought the gulp crawlers. Well needless to say I went through the whole bag.
