Custom Jigs and Spins - Which Kits???

Recommended Posts

I see a Custom Jigs and Spins Walleye Kit, Crappie/Perch Kit and Panfish/Perch Kit. I don't see what is so hot about those kits and I don't see where one kit is so much different from the other one other than the panfish kit which looks like it would be pretty cool for sunfish and as droppers for perch.

Which Kits should I get?

The panfish kits on Tacklecity are just a great way for people to get started with Custom Jigs and Spins in my opinion. If you've never tried them, or have tried a limited number of their items, the kits are great!

The differences in the kits are sizes and lures for the target species the kit is intended for.

As for the best kits, go with what you fish for. If you're a 'gill man go with the finesse kits. If a walleye guy go with the walleye pack!

Hope that helps! You're looking at the right tackle, that's for sure!

Fishin--

Matt said it well. This is top-notch tackle, and by buying it in a kit... it is also saving you a lot of money over buying each piece individually. At any given time, I bet at least two of my rods have a "Custom" jig tied on.

Fish....Any time you see jigs put together for a specific span of fish, you know that the unit contains the best selling jigs offered. Manufacturers try to take some of the guesswork out of buying tackle for those who are getting started or want to try something different. Their field and pro staffs have put these jigs thru the wringer and are tried and true. Kits are one of the best ways to shop for tackle today.

By buyingthem in the kit you are saving yourself about $8 by the looks of it... And I can tell you from using them, that they are a very good selection of lures. They are a very good quality and good color selection! A good kit for beginning to vetran angers!

Just bought the Mega Glow kit. Gotta love them Demons. Also bought some of the Mega Glow in orange which it says you can only get on the internet. They are extremely bright. The Demon Perch eyes look like they may work well on LOW with the gold on the back of them. Will be up to URL and LOW next week to try them out.

I've been on several trips to LOW, Upper Red Lake and metro lakes and everytime an item from one of the Custom Jigs and Spins kits has come in very handy. Almosy invaluable.

I have to say that I used Scenic Tackles Go Devils and Angel Eyes effectively as well.

They allow me to go big and flashy with the slender spoons down to finesse style tiny with the shrimpos and Ratsos. In between you have the Demons in differant sizes that call every gamefish I know of in to the bite. Most of the time I had to work to get those finicky biters to take. Without the Custom Jigs kits, I'm not sure I would have had the right presentation handy to hit em over the head with smile.gif

From the few responses it doesn't really seem to be that popular. It works for a few of you anyway. Thanks for trying to help.

I still don't understand what the difference is between the lures in those kits.

I mean what jig-lure is good for what? They have a lot of different types of jigs and lures in those kits. Does anyone here know?

How do you fish this tackle in those Custom Jigs and Spins kits?

fishin-

Custom Jigs & Spins products are very popular and have been around for awhile. Lures such as the Demon are a very popular shape and work equally well on a variety of fish.

The Demon is very effective on all fish under the ice. I would use the larger sizes with a minnow for walleyes. This same size would by dynamite on Upper Red Lake hooked up with a minnow also. You could jig the lure or fish it beneath a float which I like to do. The smaller size demons tipped with a eurolarvae or waxworms are very effective on panfish.

The rat finkee tipped with eurolarvae or waxworms is a pretty standard presentation for bluegills under the ice. Just fish it underneath a float. You couldn't get more basic.

The walleye kit contains jigging spoons and the larger size demons. Jigging spoons are absolutely deadly on walleye through the ice. Just tip the treble hook with a minnow, drop your line to the bottom and actively jig the lure up 6-12" and keep doing it. A few weeks ago, 90% of the walleye I caught on Lake of the Woods were caught on a jigging spoon. The fish wanted a very active presentation that day.

Hope this helps you. These are just a few of the ways in which I'll fish the Custom Jigs & Spins products and there are many others.

And as stated earlier, if you are looking to get a bunch of quality tackle, you can't go wrong with one of these kits. It will save you money over buying them individually in the store.
