thordoggydog
I had to take the afternoon off to try out the new ice toys I recieved for christmas. I took the new eskimo shark for a spin. Awesome. I mixed the gas, put it in the tank, pushed the primer bulb twice and pulled the cord twice. Started right up. Makes holes like a dream and plenty of power. I got the 8" turbo cut (curved) blades on mine.

dwag70
Keep me posted what are your likes and dislikes about the auger I am looking at buying the same thing. What was your old auger ? (what are you comparing it too) Does that have the new motor or old style motor on it
upnorth
Is that the new one with the 51 cc motor? I am planning to break down and buy a new auger tonight and am still wavering whether to go with that or the strikemaster laser mag 2000
LocalGuide
I also went out and bought myself a New 51cc Eskimo Shark 8". It is rated to be about a 2.1hp engine and I got the Turbo Blades also. I ran the thing twice now on the ice, it works great. I just prime it once, put the choke on full and pull it over about 2-3 times and we're ready to cut. I really like the engine on the auger so far. IMO Its definitly better than my dads Lazer Mag Ultra engine.
gerty
I also have the Eskimo Shark. Great auger. The first one I have had, but really like a lot of the options. I especially like the no leak venting gas cap and the fact that it can be laid down on any of it's four sides and keeps right on running. Also cuts through ice like butter! upnorth
Just went out on lunch and got the Shark 51cc with a 9" blade, they didn't have the 8". The thing was on sale for $279 and just couldn't see a better bargain out there for something like that. Can't wait to go punch some holes
shorefisher
I am going to need a new one soon also. How good is it a re-opening old holes? I have been looking at the 3hp augers but this sounds like a good deal. Thanks
18 inch Crappie
Shorefisher, Stay away from the 3hp augers I owned a Jiffy 3hp 9" and a friend had a 3hp Strikemaster. They are heavy and takes a while to warm up to cut fast. They do not start as easly as a 2hp when it is cold. I sold it and bought a 2hp and could not be more pleased. my 2 cents
fiskyknut
Shorefisher, Walleyejon bought himself a 51cc Shark with 9" Quantum bit this year. I've had it this week after setting up his big house on LOTW last weekend. This auger/bit combination reopens holes like no other I've used.Regards....fiskyknut
