Kylersk
The heater worked well for the first 15 minutes or so off of a new 1# canister but after that, it worked like dump. If I shook the canister, it'd work again for a bit, but then the heat would be like it was on low. I disconnected the canister and it would then leak. This happened with 2 canisters. Bad cans? Either way, I just picked up a hose to connect it to a 20# tank so I dont have to deal with this.
anyfishwilldo
Sounds like a good plan. I was having the same problem. It actually sounded like the gas was freezing in the 1# cans. Used it today with the hose and the 20# tank, no probs.
BandB
how cold was it out side. I think at about -20 it will not change from liquid to gas so if it was in you house when you went acros the lake it may have been to cold. I had some problems 2 years ago in devils lake it was butt cold out and the liquid would get around the opening and cause it to not seal. Also where they new 1# or where they refills, I fish with a guy that likes to use refills and they work like s*#%t they only last about 1/3 as long and they don't put out as much heat. Good luck with the 20#'er.

Dennis Steele
Sounds like frozen canisters to me.Like mentioned before if its REALY cold outside like it has been the small 1# cans will freeze up. It can happen on half full 20# tanks also.Warm up the cannisters and they should be good.
Redlantern
You might lose some pressure but I doubt they froze up. LP liquifies at -40 F.
Northlander
Ya when its cold like it is now the 1#ers need to be bruoght in a warm house for a bit then they are ok. The 11# or 20# should do the trick.
