with a wood stove i thought you would need better venting. wood reduces oxogen faster than propane. i can sit in the hardside with a blue flame and only need to barely crack a window

i had a woodstove in my shack.. what a mess, too long to heat up, then it gets too hot. just replaced it with a non-vent wall mount propane . does not require venting but i keep a crack open and a co detector going. the only way to go..

I am used to heating a house and our cabin with wood. I like the quality of the heat, the smell of the smoke, the smell of the differnt kinds of firewood (birch vs oak, etc), the sound of wood burning, watching the flame, tending to the fire, and the ritual of it all. It must just be a preference born out of habit/nostalgia. I guess it would take soom time away from fishing but I am willing to trade that.

Shadrapala,

I notice you said no windows in your post. I'm not sure if it's still a law but it use to say that all permanents needed a window in them. I built a sliding panel on the outside to cover my window when in use (keep out the light) and to allow a CO to look in if need be when I'm gone. I could be wrong but that was the law the last time I looked. Hate to see you get tagged.

You have a huge Walmart and a huge Menards store there in Cambridge.Have you checked there? If that doesn't help, call my friend Loren Lindberg. He lives 3 or 4 miles west of Cambridge not far from the old Liberty school. 1DIRTBALL aka:Keith
