TV BOY
Anyone here use one? Are they worth it? or is a big dipper work just as good?
0 cliffy
I have seen the slush inhaler thingy before..and they do seem to work pretty well....but I would think they would take up a lot of space and have only one function. On the other hand, I use the big dipper for lots of different things besides clearing my fishing holes. I can’t say enough good things about the big dipper…. Just my two cents worth.... 0 irvingdog
Anything but a Big Dipper just takes up critical space in my sled!
0 TV BOY
That is what I thought- the thing is huge! Someone has one on their christmas list and I think it would be used in a shack, up nort where da ice is thick.
0 Surface Tension
Very handy gizmo in a hard side shack.
0 pmcrawler
For temporary use in thin ice with portables it is too big and cumbersome, but if you have a permanant shack or a shack on wheels and storage is not a big deal, it is really a timesaver especially with thick ice. We were using one on LOW with 3' of ice. Just drill a hole and 1-2 dips and all of the slush is gone. It beats scooping all of the slush into 5 gallon bucket from a 3' hole inside a shack for 4-6 holes (lots of slush and lots of trips outside)! 0 Zimm
I got one last year as a gift and love it. Just remember to get the right size for your auger diamater. You will also need to keep a hole cleaner handy for the lilttle chunks that float up in your hole. When we were on Red last year and had over 100 holes in 2 days it made fishing easier it that is possiable. Very nice in big shacks because there is no mess or wet carpet. Remember it is bulky to haul around all day if your fishing from portables. I don't think you will be dissapointed with it. Good luck and keep your holes clean! 0 kooba
Zimm, I thought the red necks from LP always use their hands to clean their holes out. Don't lie to us on the forum buddy. KOOBA
0 minnesota mac
tv boy. I have had one for a couple of years. Early ice you don't even want to bring one along, but latter in the season it is the ticket. The thicker the ice is the better it workes. The others are right about it is a little large to bring along, but speed is the name of the game. From mid season I do not leave home with out it. 0 TV BOY
Thanks for all the replies, I think it will mainly be used on RED. Although the way this weather is it might not get used to next season
