MrS. get a hold of me. I have been ice fishing Amnicon for many years. Good early ice lake. I was there yesterday and only about a inch in the bay I fish. E-mail me and we can hook up. Maybe next weekend. walleyes4me32 at aol dot com

Unfortunately no, It was a quick drop of the daughter evening at the In laws who are at the cabin for the weekend. These temps have to be good for something though. Pray for the weather people to be wrong with these 40+ degree days this weekend. Man do I have an itch. Yes I am talking about fishing. smirk.gif

JKH I will be out on Sunday to check stuff out, whether I make it out to th NW Wisc. I am unsure of at this time. I will tell you what though if I make it out on Nebagamon then you should not find a problem getting on Minnisuing. The night I spent out there on Thursday put a nice sheet on Nebagamon and the -5 last night had to seal the deal on the bays one would think. I will keep you posted a I know more. Last year I watched a truck and house go through on the 19th on nebagamon as I pulled our Perm out with a 4 wheeler. Guy got out safe, drunk, but safe. However his truck and house took 3 weeks and 4 pulls of various chassis parts to get out. I definately am going to take my time this year on the perm. Snow and weak wheather are going to make for not so friendly ice.

Steve, all the lakes are about the same as yours... lol... tomorrow I am going to check out a lil sleeper, has one shallow back bay that has some huge gills in... and the main lake isnt too shabby for eyes, nothing huge but their fish to catch... but from other reports I have heard the past few days around here, I dont think I will put much hope into it... is almost looking like another week for good ice to set up... who knows, I might be pleasantly suprised...

A guy I work with lives on the north end of Minnesuing and he said as of friday morning that end was still ice free and as far as he could see, the south end looked open also. If I get a chance I might take a ride one night this week and check it out because I only live about ten minutes from there. The weather doesn't look good this week with highs in the upper thirties to the low fourties.

Cheffery, if your ever out this way this winter give me a holler and maybe we can hook up on Nebagemon or Minnesuing.

Hey JKH,

I noticed you are frm the Bayfield area?? My folks live up there. I am planning on doing some archery early season (before hockey starts up here in St. Cloud) 2005. I figure I should at least start scoping things out early. Any thoughts?? I have hunted there before and with pretty good success. Just wanted to see what a local does? you can email if you rather. eraltena at hotmail dot com.

On another note have you ever tried any of the smaller lakes like long for bluegill through the ice? I have caught some nice ones there during the summer, just never brought the otter with in the winter.

Smallie,

Yup, born and raised. I will e-mail and we can talk about hunting around this area.

For ice fishing, I have fished a lot of the smaller lakes around the area, with some success on panfish. I have to say, I do not target them hard, I am more after fishing for walleyes. But I have found some decent lakes around the area. Long Lake, if you are talking about the one near Washburn, I have only fished that lake once, and it was during the summer. Now there is another Long lake by Iron River that I have fished quite a bit. Usually what I do for ice fishing, is pick one lake and concentrait on it for a season. Not all of my time, but most of my time. This way, after a few years, I will know most of the good lakes around here. smile.gif But then I usually spend quite a bit of time out here on the big pond too, chasing lakers and 'eyes.
