Dano2
I guess ND is opening the season again starting around dec. 17th for deer, isn't 3 weeks enough, heh, heh, anyway, I heard a rumor floating around that MN is talking about it too.Has anyone else heard this? One guy told me the DNR is talking about it, and another guy told me, naaaah! But I dont really take too much that comes out of either one of their mouths very seriously anyway.thanks
psegriz
I heard the harvest was less than they expected but they were not going to. They were hoping with increased number of muzzleloaders and bow hunters they could reach harvest levels or close to it.
Ed Carlson
In ND just for doe tags and in select areas they are expanding the season. They need to get the harvest rate up. Way too many deer in many areas now so it really needs to be done to prevent any outbreaks of disease or likely starvation kills if we have a tough winter. In many areas of ND there were a lot of row crops out so the surplus cover limited the deer harvest. They feel if it is extended the desired harvest rates should fall back in line with the target harvest needed statewide.
paceman
The recent reports are that the DNR are very happy with Minnesota's numbers. Although it won't break the record it will still be in the top 2-3 when the final numbers come in. Somewhere over 200,000 killed. I don't think we will see an extended season.
