Cooter
Am I the only one anxious to try em out? Wish they had a larger size other than the 2" available. Bet they will by next year. 1/8 oz. also seems a bit light for jigging, especially in deep water. What you guys think?
hanson
I am anxiously awaiting to give them a shot. But then again, I love trying out new and different stuff. Anything that might help put more fish on the ice.
MJCatfish
Nils Master has a Jigging Shad that is very similar to the new Jigging Shad Rap. I've had mixed results, mostly good with it. Of course as was stated before, I'm always willing and excited to try new stuff. It's nice to see some of the stores are bringing out their ice fishing stuff!MJ
Toad
Think the real beauty of the Jigging Shad Rap is that unlike other swimming lures which are made of lead, this bait is composed of zinc. The bait will fish lighter, lots lighter than comparable baits, offering a nice subtle flutter on the drop. I'd like to see a larger version, as well. Give it time, I'm sure we will. Should be a good bait.-a friend,Cory Schmidt
PikeTipper
The light weight is one of the features that I am excited for from the jiggin shad. I like the Niles Master shads but they are very heavy so I'm looking forward to the slower drop. It would be nice to have larger sizes though. IcePro
How many of you use these types of baits plain? or do you add a minnow head? At times I found out that the minnow head gets the bite from the sniffers.
Cooter
Just a quick note that I was impressed with Storm's soft plastic jigging minnow last winter. Got some nice catches with them. Try them if you haven't yet.
Matt Breuer
Salmo Chubby Darters are perfect for icing anything from walleye and perch to slab crappies. I like the Chubby Darter much better than the rap products because they aren't as heavy, I like the finesse feel as opposed to working to keep the bait off the bottom. Same with spoons, I HATE heavy spoons. Just my .
Lost
I hadn't heard anything about these. Can you point me toward pictures? How would you use them?

hanson
Lost-Check out this thread.http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=267153&page=4&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=14th post down, Ed Carlson talks about the new Chubby Darters coming out this year. There are a few pics for ya too.I too like the Chubby Darter. When you jig the Darter, it'll dart up and out to the side a little bit. Then let it free fall. For the most part, it falls straight down but has a great vibrating, shaking action as it is dropping. Try it out below the ice where you can see it to familiarize yourself with the action.I was using a perch colored Chubby Darter with a dropper as a search lure out on Devils Lake last winter and it was responsible for a number of my fish, including one very nice 4 lb walleye! Matt Breuer
There are also some deadly products coming out in the Spring of next year from Salmo that are a must in every tackle box. If you don't own a Chubby Darter get one now, and fish it this Fall for those suspended crappies or vertical jig it for 'eyes, you'll be hooked, literally! Tofishem
Salmo is coming out with a new Chubby Darter in Luminescent Orange Dace, a glow pattern for dark water conditions. Bruce
Matt Breuer
The orange dace is already available on the site and in some stores. It's a proven fish catcher this season, I really like the pink and orange luminescent colors, they are a little bit off of the Salmo norm, but are deadly! Thanks for pointing out the new color pattern Bruce, long time no chat. Shoot me an e-mail some time and we can catch up.
