Hemlock
Brrrr. We were out walleye fishing last weekend making our way north from the angle as far north as big narrows, and had mixed results. It was very windy and fairly cold, making for some tougher less enjoyable conditions. Fishing was slow-->OK on Saturday with three guys boating 70 walleyes in 6 fishing hours. There were a few spots where we found crappies, but not in great #'s. Sunday was a little better. We started to find the eyes in greater numbers, and nicer sizes. We boated 100 walleyes in 3.5 hours fishing with three guys. Two around the 25" mark and most being 15-18. Fish were generally concentrated in the deeper water. (30'-35'). All in all, a great way to wrap up another angling season on the water. Boat comes out of the water today or tomorrow and the ice gear gets a tune up. Eyewitness
I just love people who rip on others about how many fish they caught. I guess if you've never experienced fishing like that you wouldn't know. It is the wonder of Canada.....That's what make it a bad habit for some of us! rckwll
Me and the wife got 30 eyes in about 90 minutes last week in Miles Bay before we got cold and quit. We've had a few fall trips where we've caught over a hundred in an afternoon. With three guys in the boat I wouldn't been surprised if Hemlock had said they'd caught 150. Hemlock
Thanks for the support, guys! Sometimes the Fishing God is with us on these 100, 200, ?00 fish days.
JZ
Every time hemlock talks about fishing in canada its always great and they never catch less than 50 a day. Now he is talking about catching 100 in 3 hours (right hemlock). He must be a better fisherman than any of us. Sometimes I have a hard time with his fish stories. Hemlock
JZ, it's time to blow your cover.... JZ, aka "Ryan" is a guy who gets on the walleyes on LOW. In fact, I was with JZ this past weekend, in his boat. JZ likes to stir the pot from behind his desk at work. So in his defense, JZ knows all about big # fish days. On the other hand, JZ.....might be time to move on to WC if you are going to talk it up!
Eastwind
Sorry I left you hanging out there for so long Hemlock, I had not read this thread. Yes, I too always believed that the fishermen claiming to catch 100 or more walleyes in a day per boat were nothing short of liars. That is, until I started to fish in Ontario. We do not always have 100 fish in the boat days but we have done so many times. In fact, the usual day is 40 to 50 in the boat with two or three fishing. Keep in mind that the typical size is 13" to 15" so I am not claiming that we are cleaning up on fish that are all trophy size. My friends and I are not talented to the level of " Pro" fishermen but we take the time to learn the water and fishing patterns for the time of year. We also do not sit on a spot waiting for long periods of time for the action to pick up. We go where we need to find structure finding fish and move if the spot is not producing or cools down. I was talking to Rcwll on the water for 15 minutes on LOW two or three weeks ago.He and his wife must have boated 6 to 8 fish while we were talking from boat to boat. They are there if you go after them. Now quit telling everyone about it!

PRFISHER
Red Lake Ontario??? Have you ever fished in the Pelican Rapids area during late ice... Would have been about 10-12 years ago. I returned a vexilar to a guy that had lost it at the lake lizzie access. This guy said that he had a cabin on Red Lake in Ontario.
