Buying a shotgun for my daughter

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about buying a 1100 LT 20 gauge for my daughter that has a slug barrel and a bird barrel for $400.00. Does anyone know where to go on the internet to see if this is in the ball park?

Thanks.
Ken

I checked a couple places and it depends on the condition. For a new one without the extra barrel it was going for $400 - 600. I'd add another $150 for the extra barrel.

So if it's in good condition then you've got a good deal going there.

Shwanger-
I just went half and half on one with my youngest. We got the LT 1100 youth model but it is fully synthetic. It was 620.00. From a Remington gun dealer. It only came with one barrel. We never owned a semi auto before. The place we bought it from was very helpful and showed us how to clean it properly. We love it. We did have one small problem with it though, we would put five shells in it and after we shot the first two, the action stayed open and a new shell wouldn't load. We took it back and they filed down a little piece of slag now it works great.

sounds like a deal to me that is if the gun is in good condition and fairly new. i paid ( well no dad paid ) for the exact gun for me 4 years ago for i think 365 ( not with the extra barrel) great little gun i would pick it up for that price. o by the way what brand is the slug barrel? im looking for getting one for my 20ga but i cant seem to find one and it doesnt shoot worth a darn with the smooth bore.

Check with Capras in Blaine.
I Bought a Ithaca Deer Slayer there at the manufactures suggested retail price!! ($350 For the modal I got) They didn't carry them but they called there dealer and he did.
All of the other stores were at least a couple hundred dollars more than that.
I was out of work with an appendix surgery and had alot of time to call around. No one else even came close to there price.

Well thanks guys but, I was a day late and a gun short, the owner sold it!!!! Its back beating the bush again but, I did mention to find out for you RR56 that the slug barrel was Remington. I have a Hasting on my 1100 and love it but, it is probably 200.00 plus, these days.

Hey Dan in Zumbro Falls, where did you end up getting that LT1100? I'm from the Rochester area, and thinking about going down and visting a few gun shops and If I remember, Zumbro Falls is not that far from Rochester or is that not correct?

Thanks all to email me to confirm that the price was good !!

I would think that the barrel would fit either but, the guys from Cabela's could tell you and I would check out the bargin cave for barrels. Last time I was down, they have many different slug barrels. Good luck to all in the upcoming deer season.

Shwag-

We got it at Dale's Gun Shop. They had to special order it. The reason we went there is because if anything happend to the gun and it needed warranty work done they are an authorized dealer.I would recomend them. Because I have done business with them before.

Thanks Dan but over lunch I purchased the 1100 that was going for $400.00 with 2, I got it for $300.00 and the guy threw in the case and 12 boxes of Benkie slugs so I feel like i got a nice little jackpot!! It is not a new 1100 LT 20 gauge but, for the daughter using it 4 times a year and it has one little scratch, its plenty good!!!! Thanks to all.
