Craig Oyler
It seems like Sept. 1st is when I start counting off the days until first ice. Last year I was able to find fishable ice on Nov. 12th. So if mother nature cooperates and I get out on the 12th again, that puts me at only 70 days until I get to walk on water again. I better start preparing now!
MNCPRGUY
I pretty much start counting down the days at ice out! Football season seems get me priming the gear again. Tough to beat a Sunday afternoon in the garage with the game on the radio and my gear strewn about.
Scott O.
I've been counting the days since Apr. 12, my last day on the ice last season. Last year, I was on by Nov. 24th, earliest I've gotten on the ice. I'm hoping to be on the ice earlier this year too, if the cold comes hard enough. I'm already looking at places to try this year and modifications to add to the Legend. C'mon Nov.!
monstermoose78
I want it to freeze now it will stop me from sneezing and I could try to get out and ice fish in September for the first time.

JeremyCampbell1582814062
Im not quite ready yet, still enjoying all campfires with the neighbors.Plenty of fun stuff to do yet before that snow starts piling in. Off topic lol My brand new ice bibs I bought at an ice show last year mysteriously vanished out of my truck around late ice this year ,so once again I'm in the market for a suit.May just get the lift suit, Brad B talked me into it. I am counting down already. my goal is to be on ice in 88 days from now. made it out for the first time last year on November 29th and hope to be out that same time this year if the weather cooperates. picksbigwagon
My 11 yr old is definitely counting down the days, we were just talking last week about booking our room for Devil's Lake. We were blessed with great weather up there last year, hoping we get just as lucky this year. Later this fall we will get the ice house down and take a serious look at modifications..... HNTNBUX
Nope. Way to many other fun things to do in the fall that are far more enjoyable than ice fishing. I don't need these days to go any faster than they already do.
Wanderer1582813680
Yep, s-l-o-w-e-r would be better for me too. October and November are the two shortest months of the year... I don't care how many days are in them... BUT I am looking forward to getting on the ice earlier this year than in the past.
Tod Todd
Counting the days especially on a day like today 80 and humid in northern IL with rain on the way. The last 2 yrs it has been Thanksgiving day on the ice either ND or MN not sure where we are going this season but I do have 81 days to make up my mind. See you on the hardwater
