JeffB
You will only see what's in the cone and your cone will be very narrow with only a foot of water. I don't think there are any magic solutions for you.
Jim Uran
Tough to do, you may as well be sight fishing.
Rick G
If you can, shoot through the ice. Otherwise keep your transducer near the top of your hole and turn the gain up till you can see. 1ft of water isn't much to play with, you might not be able to see anything anyway you do it. fisherman-andy
May as well use a bobber. I dont really see the point in 1ft of water. Maybe 4-6ft. But 1ft I dont think it will even work.
muskie hunter
This river I fish is very weired the max depth on it is 4.5 deep, and in the winter the ice gets 3 to four feet think and belive it of not we catch good fish 8-10 inch gills, nice crappies and perch, and they pull out 40 ich plus pike out of there. ozzie
I fish a shallow lake with only maybe 4 ft of water below the ice....I have started to leave the vex home when going to this lake as it just isn't needed. I can fish just as if not more effectively by not using the vex and just paying attention to my rod.
TruthWalleyes
Like said above, you can increase your cone by having your transducer closer to the surface. If you had an arm on your vex like marcum does you can just position it in the center of the hole and 4' down you might get 1' of cone.
