Boys and Girls Club Ice Outing

We took a group from the Boys and Girls Club out on the ice yesterday. Dave Genz and Jimmy Kleinsasser joined us for the day too. Caught a bunch of small sunfish and a handful of bonus pike on tip-ups and Arctic Warriors. It was fun to watch the kids reel in the pike and get excited about catching the panfish. Awesome to see the future of our sport out there enjoying the day and having fun! Here are a few photos from yesterday...

The adults really got into it and had a lot of fun. Dave Genz was hopping from shelter to shelter sharing stories and tips.

If you look at the group shot it's amazing the wingspan of Kleinsasser... just imagine if Ponder had him to throw to this season, Peterson would have had someone else to help score touchdowns It was awesome to see Jimmy out there running around with the kids and helping set a good example for today's youth. He's a class act and a darn-good angler!!

We are going to try and get the Boys and Girls Club on the ice more often moving forward. These kids have a blast!!

I posted on HSO Facebook last week "it doesn't take a bunch of guys dressed like Nascar drivers to have a great youth event. It only takes a handful of kids and some adults to help out."

I have 3 outings a year with my local boys and girls clubs. Most of them are pick up fishing trips, so I solicit local anglers that are all ready on the ice at the local hot spot.
