Any suggestions on what line and backing line to put on the new spooler reel?

I backed with 10lb mono and then used a back to back uni knot with whatever lb test you want to use for the species you are looking for. I am a big fan of Northland Fluorosilk in 2lb for Panfish.

I spooled both of mine directly with no backing. Next time Ill take Jim Hudsons advice and back with some bigger mono. That sounds like a plan, Im a fan of Northland Bionic Ice in 2lb test.

I love these reels, they have performed flawlessly so far.

I used Sufix Ice braid under my Sufix Magic Ice.

I like using fly like backing/dacron. Fills up the spool nicely, and I can get some neat color combos rocking. I always spool my backing with high ridges on the outsides of the spool, making a "V" shape. This allows my main line to settle in the middle, and not dig into the dacron.
