We sold our cabin on Lake vermilion because it's such a long drive from the Twin Cities. However, I loved it there because we NEVER got swimmers itch. I would like to buy on Bone lake or the Hayward area lakes but I'm afraid they all have swimmers itch. 

Any ideas.

With all the water I've been in this state I've never had an issue or the fam. Isn't Hayward bout the same distance?

Susan, Welcome to the forum. 

There are a few ways to try and prevent swimmers itch like for one, swim in deeper water away from shore. Take a shower right when getting out with soap.  I don't think I would run away from a nice lake because of it.
