Popular Post Duffman
As I said in the previous thread, I mainly got these to keep my hound from stepping on my rods in the boat. My boat tops out at 30mph, so I don't know if it would work for most bass stripper glitter boats. And I really didn't encounter any rough waves with them on, so I will keep an eye on them in rough weather until I am comfortable leaving rods there. After this past weekends first use, I really like them. Allows me easier access to my rod locker because I do not have to store the rods on the locker lid anymore. I was kinda leery about the fact that you are putting the rods on the holder while it is extended over the water, but I don't think that will be an issue......as long as the barely pops are consumed in moderation. Driftmaster also makes a model where the stem is in the middle of the holder instead of on one end. Seeing that I already had 6 Driftmaster mounts already on my gunnels, I didn't have to do anything to install them, quick twist in and good to go. Double
Duffman, that's an awesome looking rig & a sweet setup for your rods. I'm definitely hooking those up! I will need to do the complete install. Any idea how difficult that may be? Keep in mind nobody can turn a one-hour project into an all-day fiasco like I can. Thanks for re-posting. Duffman
It comes with these mounts. I have the low profile mounts that I originally put on for the rod holders. Those came with two holes and screws, I added a couple holes and pop riveted them in. Mainly because I wanted more support for dipsey diving for salmon on Lake Michigan. I ended up installing some Scotty rod holders for trolling salmon and other fish. But the Driftmasters still get used for bobber fishing and such. I thought the rod rack was a little on the spendy side........but it's cheaper than a new rod. Good luck. eyeguy 54 and Cret Jigs
