Looks like it will work great. I really like the setup, because if a sinker gets hung up you just keep constant pressure on it and after a bit the sinker pops off and you don't loose your rig. Also quick and easy to change weight for different depths and styles.

It's kind of fun making your own gear. I made some down rigger balls once. Lot's of tire wheel weights were used!

Sort of a good idea, but without the connector the sinkers are worthless.  Why not just use a sinker slide clip and then you can utilize most any random sinker that has a hole in it.    If you want it to break it free you can just tie a loop of smaller mono on it.

I do like the concept of quick and easy push on and pull off design though!
