Our Christmas Meal

Everything went as planned except no dumplings.  My daughters came back from Vegas late so they were getting lazy, but I told them it will be Easter then.  So we had mashed potatoes instead.  Brusslesprouts with bacon, my German Kraut,  12 pound prime rib and a smoked turkey breast that my son-inlaw brined and smoked.  Have to say that this was his second one he has smoked and it was the best I have ever eaten.  So moist and tender [and tasty].  He is getting better all the time with that smoker.   The prime rib turned out good also.  We had a great time at my daughters as usual.  Even went to my once a year Casino trip and lost some money [last year I won some].  My daughters won big though.  Here are some pics:

Pulled the roast out when the internal was 128.

 

 

Pulled the turkey breast out at an internal of 170 deg.

 

 

Nice color on the meat.  Have to keep a eye out for more sales on these.

Closer look.  I took the ribs off and threw some sauce on them and put them back in the oven for something to snack on later.  I told everyone that the ribs go to the cook but that didn't work out too good.  I did get one rib.

 

 

Like I said, this was the best turkey breast I have ever had.  Glad to see my son-inlaw is getting hooked on smoking.

No pictures, but we had prime rib, squash, spaetzel, green bean casserole, nutella cheesecake, cherry berry dessert, home baked rolls, home made panetone, pro secco, champagne, some craft beer, and other stuff I forget.   Oh and a bottle of red wine...

But there were 6 adults.

Great job reinhard, that's one heck of a plate!!  you have to remember the son in law has the best teacher around on his side.
