Garmin Lake Mapping

Duffman

Recommended Posts

An old friend and co-worker is Captain of one of the Garmin Survey boats that is currently mapping some N Minnesota lakes.

Cool boats, and not cheap with all of the electronic gear on board.

Those masts that they lower into the water can be snapped off by old standing trees in southern US reservoirs........oops.

He runs into a lot of let's say...........odd characters while doing his job.  (cue banjo)

Famous ones too!

Sweet looking rigs for sure. Garmin is sure upping the ante in the "freshwater" market. They have some impressive displays and if they focus on mapping that will really help them. Definitely considering a Garmin for my next upgrade, but I will not be moving away from Lowrance due to all my network items I have already including my xi5 trolling motor.
