leechlake
"Barney" got out for his first turkey hunt. Guide had him in the blind at 515 in Carver County and a hour later success. Pretty good smile. (if someone can rotate photo I'd appreciate it).
sticknstring
That's a long wait in the blind in the dark but it paid off - congrats to hunter and guide!
gomer04
I was also mentoring this weekend. We were out in the field by 4:45 yesterday morning. The first gobble came at about 5:30 and it didn't stop from there. It was a very vocal morning between the toms gobbling, the roosters cackling, to a beaver splashing his tail in the creek behind us. I had looked down at my phone to see what time it was to let the dad know how much time was left until his son was able to shoot and 5 minutes later another tom had started gobbling to the west of us. I watched this bird come busting out of the brush, running across the field and stopping to fan and the good ole spit and drum sound. After he was done fanning out, he slowly walked in front of us at about 35 yards out. It had just turned 6:00 and the shot was taken. Both the dad and the kid could not believe on how quick the hunt went. This is Dylan Kahle with his 25 lb bird. 1'' spurs and a 9 1/8" beard
