best finder/plotter combo for $750 max

Looking for new electronics for the skiff. Max $750. Need combo gps/finder with Rainy Lake chip.

What do you suggest? Currently have an x85 so I am not very current . Want a fair size screen

That is what the local bait store said but I see a lot of complaints on line about units shutting down and malfunctioning . Probably a function of how many units are being sold . If you have a 1% unsatisfied customer rate but sell the most units you will still have a high number of complaints

I had one on my console all summer and it was fine. Bought another for the bow. Can't pass up the deal.

I am planning on doing the software update sometime soon.

If you can swing a Humminbird, go for it. Much more user friendly and better chips for that area!

Better chips? I don't think so. The Lowrance Lake Insight chip uses that same data that Lakemaster did and its all on ONE chip. You don't have to buy a separate LOW/Rainy chip. I have Navionics, Lowrance Lake Insight and Lakemaster. The Lowrance chip is my go to chip because it has all bodies of water on it and its Lakemaster quality mapping.

Regarding the unit to buy, the elite 7 HDI is a very good unit for that price range.

I believe Cabela's has the standard non touch HDS7 Gen 2 for $499. That's a steal.
