2007 ford f150 missfire

2007 ford f150 I am getting a po 302 code missfire cylinder 2. I replaced coil pack and plug code came back. I also got a code catylic converter below threshold would bad cats cause missfire on one just one cylinder.

Year, Make, Model, and Engine Size? There are a couple of engine options so this is important.

I assume you have a 5.4 liter.

Did you try swapping the coil with another cylinder before replacing it?

Have you checked to see if the number two coil is producing spark?

What brand of plug did you use?

A bad cat will typically cause a bank to misfire. So there would me misfires on 1-2-3-4 or on 5-6-7-8

Its got the 5.4 I replaced coil pac with a new one and autolite spark plug cleared the code drove a 120 miles to the lake seem to run good. Got up next moring started truck to move it and it ran real rough threw that same code misfire cylinder 2. Would bad injector through a code?

A bad injector certainly could cause a misfire.

So can a weak cylinder or dirty valves, bad wiring, bad computer, etc....

Just to make sure you replaced the spark plug and coil for the second cylinder on the passenger side.

You checked to make sure that the coil is capable of producing spark when the misfire is present? this is important!

That was my first thought! I've gotten to the point of verifying every time now that I dont work on them as often as I used to. smile
