minky
Frog,Any thoughts on a reasonable priced, quality boot?Is the Rocky line of boots worth looking at?
frogtosser
I had a pair of rockys years ago, I have heard good things about Danner Pronghorns. I got a pair of Meindel boots from Cabelas for hunting in the mountains that are really comfortable. I guess I didn't want to get cheap on my boots cause if you can't walk, your not gonna be hunting much. I also had some Cabelas bucks to use too. TattooedHunter
I just picked up a pair of Salomon Quest 4D hiking boots. Got good reviews for traction and ankle support, as well as waterproof and comfortable. They seem to pretty light too.

DonBo
I've got a pair of the Danner Pronghorn and love them. Had several pair of Rock's years ago and every one fell apart. Can't say if they're better now or not.
huntnfish
Minky if you've got Scheels close by the pronghorns have been on clearance for about 100. The Grand Forks store had a bunch on the shelf. Almost bought a pair for a backup. I love my pronghorns.

Siwulat
I emailed the SD GFP this weekend asking how to make the color coded overlay transparent in WILMA. All you need to do is click "more" in the upper right, then click the down arrow next to hunting atlas. Then click transparency, then drag it closer to 50%. Then you can change the base layer to view the geological features of the area you are looking at. Just an FYI for cyber scouting.
