I know it is old but I love my H2O with lakemaster chip. It has serve me well. I also have the Marcum 825 which works great but as in all cameras doesn't work after dark. If I had to do it again I would have bought the smaller camera and stuck with the black and white instead of color.

I have lowrance h20c. Been great the color model chews up batteries but low rancor is great. I rarely use it now with hds5 always with

+1 here, except HuntC and 522c.

I would always pick a gps over a camera when there has to be a choice. That being said, I see alot of guys using apps on their phones for their handheld gps these days.

With Garmin handhelds, you can zoom down to 20 feet, you'll pinpoint your spot with that tight of a zoom. My tablet only zooms down to 200 feet if I'm not mistaken with the Navionics app.

You can get the Garmin Upper Midwest Fishing Guide for lake structure for a Garmin handheld.

For me, the handheld works best, I use it for many things other than just fishing ( summer and winter ), if you have the need for topo maps, you can get topo maps for many states free of charge or buy the ones that Garmin offers.

Some models to look at:

Etrex 20 or 30

GPSMap 62, 64 or 78 ( 78 floats )

Oregon 600 or higher

Montana

Garmin also has the Rhino series that incorporate Walkie Talkies with their GPS device for some unique features.

for a hand held gps and also a underwater camera? and your reasons for your choice.. thanks in advance for your replys

Hand held gps I would go with an I-finder. (H20-C OR HUNT-C) if you can find one used. They are sweet units. Or just get the Navionics app on your phone.

Not sure what your budget is for underwater camera, but look at the AV 715c a nice full size color unit or a portable AV Micro Plus. If you have some extra cash to burn the AV 760cz is the best in the market right now in my opinion.

I wish I had the AV 760cz! The zoom feature would be sweet to have on a full size model. You also get a Sony CCD HD Image Sensor, Depth, Water Temperature & Camera Direction On Screen Display.

Garmin GPSMap78s. Nice easy to see color screen, accepts data chips, has plenty of on-board memory, waterproof, floats, rugged (dropped mine on the ground the other day), and accurate (typically to within 6-8 feet with WAAS enabled).
