this is great video. pass on the info to get others on board. i'm sure we have all kept a big blue gill before and this is the type of info that will make people think twice if they truly care about the sport.

I am fully in support of the "only one fish over 9 inches" regulation, but I hope they stay liberal on quantity of small fish. I would go further in the TC metro and make it "one fish over 7 inches" until the size structure changes.

Along with releasing the genetics that make more large fish, protection of prime spawning areas similar to bass should be implemented. People pick off the largest gills at will on many lakes during the spawn. As stated some lakes are beyond return; very sad

DNR used to do this on several lakes in our area to protect panfish...they'd put posts along entrances of the bays and post no fishing beyond this area....they don't do it anymore and my guess is they lack the resources to do this plus their attention has turned to invasive species unfortunately.
