Aqua-View Micro Cameras

I have the Micro II and really like it! I also use the snake arm mount on my wheelhouse wall, and then use the "clamp" style on the poles in my portable flip shack.

One downside to the AV Micro's is having to twist the cord to rotate. Not a huge deal, but can be frustrating when you are trying to get it to stay in a particular spot. To solve that solution I bout the CFish R1 camera to use strictly in the wheelhouse so I can plug it into my 32" TV and use the remote to turn the camera EXACTLY where I want it.

I have the micro 2; it has automatic ir lights, and snow storms like a mo fo. Bought the origional aqua vu micro the weekend before buying the micro 2, and thought the image quality was better on the 1 than the 2 simply because the ir right next to the camera lense causes light to reflect right back to the lense. However the 1 quit working within 3 hours of using it, and the 2 went on sale for hte same price i bought the 1....So i bought the aqua vu 2 and kind of wished i still had the 1.

I'm going to try to blacken out the ir lights on my micro 2 and add an underwater flashlight that's at least a few inches from the lense.

I love that i always have my camera with though, even though 99% of the time i never pull it out, it's always in the taklebag since it's so darn small and handy.

I have the first edition of the Micro and love it for its ease of operation and pocket size. The resolution is good enough that I can see fish and structure even in cloudy water. I usually have mine mounted to my Bird 45 carrying handle so I can drop it down if I want to see what's going on below low, but I can dismount it quick and check other holes. If you don't mind the smaller screen size compared to your Fish Scout, you'll really like the Micros.

What are your thoughts on these new cameras? I have a vexilar Fish Scout and wonder what i would be giving up if i switched to the Aqua-View. I like that i can mount the Aqua-View in my IC on the wall with the catch cover holder.

I have the Aqua Vu micro plus. I have the pro-snake & the mo-pod 3 for true hands free operation. It is an awesome setup. Hand free & portable or set in & forget & just watch your fish on tv.

I just bought the micro II from Gander Mountain For $250 with a $50 rebate and then another rebate to get a case and car charger. I can't wait to use it. I wish is had the hard cover/shield like the DV version. Maybe they will come out with a snap-on version for the Micro II. I couldn't believe how thin the cable is. Have to figure out a way to point it while it is underwater.

One word of caution with these Micro's...last winter while fishing I had the camera dropped down "watching". All the sudden I had a big Pike staring at the camera. At 1st I thought it was pretty cool...then IO realized it would suck to have all those teeth latch onto the tiny camera thinking it was food! shocked

So I quickly pulled it up / out of the water & he actually took a quick swing at it while I was retrieving it.

Long story short...the tiny cameras & thin cables are really nice...until a big fish decides it looks tasty so be aware...

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
