Down Deep
My son has asked me to get him a countertop deep fryer for a Christmas present. He says his better half is complaining about the mess a frying pan he uses to cook his fish leaves on the stove. I've looked online for reviews on various fryers and there are positives and negatives on most models. I thought I'd ask for the recommendations from the experts here. I have a budget up to $150. Thanks

RebelSS
From a lifetime cook....don't waste your money on a cheapie; get a good one with solid electronics and heat elements. The Waring Pro DF280 consistently gets top reviews; and they make top quality stuff. For your price range, this is a darned good one, and on sale for $99 at that fancy M department store. deerminator
Would he use it mostly in the summer? If so, I use my cast iron dutch oven on top my turkey fryer burner and I feel its easier to clean and maintain than a deep fryer. Just my 2 cents. And you can use the dutch oven for other applications. Even on the deck in the winter if he wears a coat. lol
Down Deep
He is an avid ice fisherman and cooks indoors a good part of the year. His kids also like french fries and rings. In the summer he goes outside and uses his 3 burner Coleman with a deep iron lodge skillet.
