Video of successful early season bow hunt

Recommended Posts

Its been a while since I posted a report on here, but I have been working and hunting and hunting some more! Here is a nice 8 point I got on camera earlier this year. I also want to make it known that on these videos, you will see brands of gear that I use that work for me, I am not sponsored by any single company, I just use them. I am not advertising for anyone. Also, you will notice a title of my videos now on the entry screen, this is just so I can practice editing videos. I do at some point want to try to do my own actual show and this is practice for me and I hope you all enjoy watching them in the mean time. I know I have a lot of improvement to do, but that's what I am working on. Thank you all for the positive feedback on my fishing report videos!

Tom what I liked the most is that you are a genuine guy like most hunters. Most of the guys on hunting shows are complete cheese balls. My comment is that we are all tired of hearing the same commentary from all of them as they sit in the stand. "We'll see what happens" for example stay away from that talk to differentiate yourself (not that you do do that). I know it's hard to figure the words to say but I'd watch those shows and practice using different words or jargon to describe the situation you are in.

Looking forward to more. Be yourself but be different.

Thanks! Yeah I agree with you on some of the shows on tv. I try to be myself. It is just me out there in the stand, no cameraman, no hunting partners, so I do what I can to just explain what I am doing and the situations and such. There are a lot of us that do not have access to big buck havens and huge plots of land where we can manage food plots and such. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to have land like that. However, I am fortunate to have the spots I have. They aren't big acreages or even really near any prime buck areas. I have just a handful of spots that I have permission to hunt, and all but one of them I got by knocking on random doors. Mostly in the summer, on the way to and from the lakes, I would mark spots on my GPS and try to find the nearest home and knock on the door and ask for permission. I was a bit nervous to do that at first, but if I didn't try, I wouldn't know. And the worst that could happen is they could tell me no. And that did happen a few times, but I did lock down a few spots here in MN and ND. I leave on Saturday to deer hunt in Arkansas where I grew up on my moms small family farm. Hope I get one! And yes, I will be putting together a couple more videos soon.

Thanks again!

Nice video. I personally like that it shows the blood. It's part of it. There's nothing better than seeing a bunch of blood on the deer & knowing it was a fast ending. I know the antis don't like it, but lets face it, they don't like anything about it anyway.

Thanks for that bigbucks. It is reality and how it is when we hunt.

That was COOL!!! I actually like the fact that you didnt stage the deer before walking up to it. IMHO the people who watch these videos know what a dead deer looks like. I also liked that you left some of the video of you adjusting your cameras in the clip! Good job and congrats on a nice filmed bow kill! Look forward to seeing more videos!

Thanks shortfatguy. I enjoy the challenge of trying to get the deer on camera. Its a rush like no other even without cameras. I just got a nice buck in my home state of Arkansas and forgot to push the record button! haha. but I am thrilled nonetheless. thanks for watching the video!
