You Should Have Shot Him

There's been this dog (a chocolate lab) around numerous times recently and in the past year or two. He belongs to a gentleman who lives by a neighbor way down the road. The neighbor tells me he hopes the dog would run away for good. Never in his own yard and often in the neigbhor's. Anyway, the dog came by today (has been in our yard 4 times in the past week and a half) and was running a little resident orphaned doe around the woods and I had had it. I tied him to a tree in our front yard. Did a couple hours of work calls I had to and called the owner (name was on tag). He comes to get him and says "I was here last year to get him." I said yes, you were and I said he was running deer around here today. I wouldn't shoot him but gun season opens Saturday morning and who knows what some of these other people would do to him.

The guys then told me, "well if you saw him running deer, he deserved to be shot today. Next time shoot him." : O I told my wife if that dog comes down here again, we're either putting a shock collar on him and keeping him as part of our ever expanding clan or driving him to the humane society so someone that wants him can have him. Very nice dog. A bit of a slobberer though. Pretty gross actually. lol.

Wow! what the hell is the matter with people. I could not shoot a dog like that just because that lazy SOB can't take care of him. He probably doesn't even feed the dog so that's why he goes looking for food over to your place. I already have 2 dogs and live in town or I would take him. I hope you keep him or get him another place to live. Put a add on the list maybe I am sure some one would love to have him. Kudos to you and good luck if your going deer hunting tomorrow!!!

That dog needs a new home.

No Minnesotan should even make a joke about the Deep South, Appalachia, Arkansas without taking a real close look in their back yard.

There are plenty of urban Minnesotans who decide to move to the backwoods only to find their neighbors live and act like morons.

What is really discouraging is most of these Minnesotans did finish high school.

It isn't legal to do this time of year anyway, unless you are a C.O.

Next time you catch him take him to the humane society, I did it once to a little mutt that kept coming by, loaded him into my truck, and tied him to the Humane society fence, I didn't want my name associated with him in case the owners showed up to claim him. I'm sure he made a nice pet for someone - after the Humane society cut off his nuts.

Yep just grab him when no ones looking and tie him up at the h.s or take him in yourself
