2010 Silverado LT-No radio display lights

Recommended Posts

Any chance of a fuse problem if the radio display lights don't work? Called a gn dealer and they said the radio needs to be replaced. Any idea of the cost? It works fine, but the display lights are so dim you can't make anything out, pain in the butt!!!

Sounds like a cracked circuit board, or a bad connector. Maybe a poor soldering job. I wonder if GM is ROHS compliant on those trucks? It caused a lot of trouble in the early days, and maybe still does.

I think I've encountered a problem like this in the majority of old(ish) Chevy trucks I've been in/owned. It's gotta be common, but I've never had the $$ or the inclination to worry much about it. Of course, the ones I've owned have been much, much older than yours.

You may want to check your dash light dimmer/brightness adjuster?? I know on my 08 i can turn the rheostat type button and dim the dash lights way down to the point where it almost seems like they are off especially if it's bright out. Might be an easy fix... I know I turn it way down alot while night driving because the dash lights are so bright that it's distracting. Just a thought...
